Come and hear some interesting ways of presenting traditionally “un-exciting” STEM subjects using short films and online materials. Submit your own ideas for interesting ways to teach boring things, and take away a goodie bag at the end! Stage: KS3, KS4 | | | 14:30 – 15:15 | Spellathon – improve spelling and raise funds for your school | Jamie Goldblatt, Mencap Spellathon is a fully digital sponsored spelling initiative. Primary and secondary school children compete to correctly spell as many words as they can while fundraising for Mencap, the UK’s leading charity for people with a learning disability, and their families and carers. Schools can also receive 25% of the money their students raise. Schools register online and gain access to free interactive games and resources that teach and improve spelling at school and at home. Children pledge a target number of words to spell, and family and friends sponsor their fundraising efforts.
