TES Education 2009 will once again be wowing visitors to Olympia with a one-stop-shop of educational resources and expert advice.
With nearly three hundred resource and service suppliers exhibiting, visitors will get the chance to try products for themselves, get demonstrations of the latest gadgets and benefit from exclusive show discounts and free samples. Dedicated zones will allow delegates to quickly find the information they need, and the special features and product demonstrations taking place throughout the show will keep the exhibition floor buzzing.
Premier Sport is launching The Golden Mile, a simple yet pioneering new initiative which could have the biggest ever impact on fitness levels among the UK’s. The school walking, jogging or running project aims to engage EVERY school across the UK to take part to reduce the ongoing challenges of childhood obesity. Pupils and schools will receive awards for achieving simple attainable targets on a regular basis. This information can be viewed by Head Teachers in comparison to where their school is at a regional and national level. To mark the launch, The Golden Mile is offering 750 Primary Schools from around UK the chance to participate – a prize fund worth nearly £50,000. This fantastic opportunity is available only to schools attending TES Education 2009 in October.
Get Set Schools will be bringing along Stan, the patient simulator, which they use to show young people how drugs and knife injuries affect the body. This life size human manikin, normally used in medical training, displays all the normal signs of life. During the workshop, they will show the physiological effects on the body of drugs and injuries.
The Food for Life Partnership presents their Growing Food Quiz, designed to help students understand where the food they eat comes from and get them engaged with growing. Visitors can pick up a free packet of seeds or schools garden planner.
The Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) will be showcasing pioneering educational projects and materials including the groundbreaking new programme Think Equal.
Housing and homelessness charity Shelter will be showcasing their first free interactive resources for schools. Packed with exciting and stimulating free resources, including videos, drag and drop activities, games and information slides, the kit is designed to inspire students while meeting key curriculum objectives.
Get top tips from the Healthy Schools stage, with dynamic speakers and free sessions running throughout the event. Meet inspirational athletes, including OLYMPIC GOLD-MEDALLIST swimmer Duncan Goodhew, captain of ENGLAND WOMAN’S CRICKET TEAM Charlotte Edwards, and CRICKETER Devon Malcolm.

The TES Construction in Education Conference on 2 October examines the aim to rebuild or renew nearly every secondary school and at least half of all primary school buildings in England. Running alongside the TES Construction in Education Conference on will be a Construction in Education Zone. Visit the classroom of the future, showcasing the latest design ideas and learning spaces.
