 PRESS RELEASE September 2009
MUSIC AND LEARNING ABOUT THE WORLD WITH NES
Leading educational resource brand, NES, will be exhibiting at the TES exhibition from 2nd-3rd October at Olympia, London.
NES product highlights include a selection of curricular resources for the primary years – watch out for Friends Around The World. This newly developed kit will help practitioners bring their Geography lessons to life and open children to the cultures of the world as they meet KS1 and KS2 QCA units.
With letters from pen-pals from around the world, children will not only learn about the physical characteristics of different countries but also about their way of life, homes, culture and economy. Each letter will set the children a challenge about their own locality – from putting together a brochure about local tourist attractions, to making comparisons between the countries and tackling local issues.
The kit is packed with everything needed for a KS1/2 classroom such as maps, photos and puzzles; and includes blank cards, letters and a CD-Rom for session variation. The accompanying teacher’s notes are packed with a 100 different activities, all with links to the curriculum to support theme-based teaching.
NES will also be exhibiting resources from its newly launched catalogue, First2learn. Featuring over 4,300 resources, the new First2learn range is brimming with innovative and unique resources designed with early year’s practitioners in mind.
The Rhythm Sound Centre is a brand new resource which will be on show to celebrate the launch of The National Year of Music. Great for indoor and outdoor use, this mobile frame features a wealth of instruments to keep the children entertained; enabling them to explore the numerous sounds to be made and encouraging self-expression and creativity.
To help beat the recession and reducing budgets, visitors to the stand will benefit from a 10% and FREE delivery. There will also be two FREE prize draws for a chance to win one of two £250 vouchers to spend on NES resources – one for primary practitioners and one for early years practitioners.
To further coincide with The National Year of Music, visitors can also benefit from a 15% discount and FREE delivery exclusively on music orders placed throughout the show.
